Starkey advances
hearing-care footprint
during Dubai Otology 2025
(DUBAI)
-
Against the
backdrop of Dubai’s
Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan,
Starkey MEA capped off a
dynamic three-day presence
at the recent 13th Dubai
Otology, Neurotology & Skull
Base Surgery Conference &
Exhibition. Held from
November 6–8, 2025, the
event drew an international
community of ENT surgeons,
audiologists, and industry
leaders, all converging for
cutting-edge scientific
updates and a specialized
exhibition showcasing the
latest in hearing-care
innovation.
Across
the show, Starkey MEA hosted
rolling live product
walk-throughs, small-group
tutorials, and open Q&A
sessions designed around
real-world listening
challenges—speech clarity in
noise, all-day comfort,
device care, and app-enabled
self-management. Clinical
specialists led case
discussions with hospital
and clinic teams from the
GCC and North Africa, while
commercial leads met with
procurement and distribution
partners to discuss
deployment models, training
pathways, and after-sales
support.
Giscard Bechara, Regional
Director, Starkey MEA, said:
“Dubai Otology is where
evidence and everyday
practice meet. Over three
days, we heard clear
priorities from clinicians:
faster fittings, more
natural sound, and easier
follow-up for patients and
families. The engagement at
our stand showed that the
region is ready for hearing
solutions that are smart,
reliable, and truly
patient-centric. We shared
with the professionals the
upcoming updates to the
product line, which will be
coming soon to the UAE”.
The public-health need
for hearing care continues
to rise. According to the
World Health Organization,
more than 700 million people
are projected to have
disabling hearing loss by
2050, underscoring the
importance of early
diagnosis, timely
rehabilitation, and scalable
care models across MEA.
At the show, Starkey MEA
emphasized simple,
evidence-aligned steps:
screen early and regularly
if conversations—especially
in noisy places—are getting
harder to follow, because
early rehabilitation
protects quality of life;
protect your ears by
limiting loud-sound exposure
at work and during leisure
and using hearing protection
when needed; act on results
by wearing prescribed
hearing aids consistently
and attending follow-ups for
fine-tuning; maintain
devices by keeping
microphones and receivers
clean and dry, replacing wax
guards/domes/batteries as
advised, and updating
firmware; and stay connected
to care by using
remote-support features and
mobile apps for minor
adjustments between clinic
visits and reporting sudden
changes promptly.
Dubai
Otology is a Middle East’s
dedicated platform for
otology, neurotology, and
skull-base surgery,
combining a scientific
conference with a
specialized exhibition.
Starkey’s Edge AI has
been awarded ‘Tech
Solution of the Year’
at the recent Health
Magazine Awards, held under
the esteemed patronage of
H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mubarak
Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member
and Minister of Tolerance
and Coexistence. The
recognition highlights the
product’s real-world impact
across the Middle East and
Africa, as it helps patients
hear—and live—more
confidently.
Edge AI
is available through Starkey
MEA’s authorized partner
network. Market
availability, compatible
devices, and feature
sets—including fall
detection and balance
assessment—may vary by
country and require fitting
by a licensed hearing care
professional. Patients and
caregivers can contact
Starkey MEA partners to book
a combined hearing and
balance screening and to
determine the most suitable
configuration for individual
needs.
