PureHealth brand portfolio reaches AED 11 billion, named Middle East’s leading healthcare brand in 2026 Brand Finance report

PureHealth retains MSCI AAA ESG rating for second consecutive year, reports 2025 sustainability data

(ABU DHABI) - PureHealth, a healthcare group operating across the Middle East and international markets, has retained an AAA environmental, social and governance (ESG) rating from MSCI for the second consecutive year. According to the group, its assessment score was approximately 30% above the industry average.

The rating coincides with the publication of PureHealth’s 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Report, which outlines performance across emissions reduction, community programs, workforce development and local procurement.

In 2025, PureHealth reported an 11% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared with 2024, alongside a 6% decrease in missions intensity. The group also completed a revised emissions baseline following its international expansion and commissioned its first on-site solar installation at SEHA Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohamed Medical City.

The solar installation generated more than 1,000 MWh of electricity and avoided an estimated 330 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e), according to the report. The group also reported recycling approximately 3,000 tons of waste as part of its environmental initiatives.

Community health and social investment

PureHealth reported AED 41 million in direct and indirect corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending in the UAE during 2025. It also pledged AED 50 million to the Life Endowment campaign launched by Awqaf Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. The initiative supports treatment for vulnerable patients with chronic diseases.

Community programs across the group’s UAE and UK operations reached approximately 473,000 beneficiaries, a 116% increase from the previous year. Volunteer participation rose by 88% to nearly 9,000, according to the report.

The group also continued to develop PureHeroes, a national healthcare volunteering platform established in partnership with Emirates Foundation. Its Emirati Women Chapter program recorded 62 graduates who completed a structured mentorship and leadership development program.

Workforce development and inclusion

Workforce training hours increased by 30% year on year to approximately 834,000 in 2025. PureHealth also reported employing nearly 5,300 Emiratis across the group, while 146 participants graduated from its Emirati Development Centre, a 21% increase compared with 2024.

Women accounted for 66% of the workforce and held 34% of leadership positions. The number of employees identified as People of Determination across UAE and UK operations increased by 59% to 500.

For the second consecutive year, selected environmental and workforce disclosures covering the group’s UAE and UK operations underwent independent third-party assurance.

Local procurement and economic contribution

PureHealth spent AED 3.76 billion with local suppliers in 2025, supporting the UAE’s National In-Country Value (ICV) Program.

Rafed, the group’s procurement and supply-chain business, received an ICV Champion Award for its work supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through the program.

The report also outlines the group’s ongoing Net Zero 2040 commitment and its approach to integrating environmental and social considerations into healthcare operations.

Commenting on the report, Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer of PureHealth, said the group’s responsibilities extend beyond the immediate delivery of healthcare to the longer-term effects of its operations and investments.

She described the continued AAA rating as independent recognition of the group’s approach to ESG management and its stated commitment to healthcare system resilience and community outcomes.

Leya Aldamani, Chief Sustainability Officer at PureHealth, said the group had continued to address emissions, energy use, workforce development and access to care during 2025, with a focus on incorporating sustainability practices across its operations.

PureHealth reported receiving 10 sustainability and social impact awards and recognitions during the year, including recognition at the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit Awards under the category “Most Sustainable Projects in the Middle East”.
