PureHealth launches
AI-powered solution to
expand healthcare access for
Daman members
(ABU DHABI)
-
PureHealth
has launched an artificial
intelligence system to
automate document processing
for The National Insurance
Company – Daman, saying the
technology will handle more
than 60 million documents a
year as the UAE insurer
seeks to speed up
administrative processes.
The system is expected
to convert more than 80% of
documents into structured
digital data and reduce
processing times from days
to minutes, according to
PureHealth. The company said
manual rework could fall by
more than 50%.
The
technology is designed to
identify missing or
incomplete information when
documents are submitted,
reducing manual data entry
and follow-up requests. It
will initially support
processes including policy
enrollments, endorsements, and
claims, with potential
applications in claims and
prior-authorization
processing.
PureHealth said the system
uses large language models,
automated document
classification, and
structured data extraction
to convert policy documents
into digital information
that can be integrated into
Daman's existing workflows.
The solution was
developed by PureCS, a cloud
and technology services
provider owned by
PureHealth. The company said
the system combines
components developed for
Daman with other AI
technologies and is designed
to support further
automation of insurance
processes.
Daman
serves more than three
million members in the UAE,
according to PureHealth.
"Artificial intelligence
is reshaping healthcare and
financing is a critical part
of that shift,"
PureHealth Group Chief
Executive Shaista Asif
said. "Through
Daman's AI-powered solution,
we are embedding advanced
digital intelligence into
core insurance operations,
strengthening the
foundations of healthcare
financing and supporting
better outcomes for patients
and providers."
Daman Chief
Executive Khaled Ateeq
Aldhaheri said the
automation would help reduce
errors and processing times
while allowing staff to
focus on other activities,
including fraud detection,
clinical quality assurance,
and member support.
"This AI-powered solution is
a major step forward in how
we serve our members and
partners," Aldhaheri said.
"By automating millions of
documents every year, we are
reducing errors,
accelerating turnaround
times, and removing friction
from the process."
The launch forms part of
Daman's broader digital
transformation program and
PureHealth's efforts to
expand the use of digital
technologies across
healthcare and health
insurance operations.
