Mediclinic Middle East
and Commure explore use of
Ambient AI in clinical
documentation
(ABU DHABI)
-
Mediclinic Middle East
and
Commure highlighted
their collaboration on
Ambient Artificial
Intelligence (AI) in
clinical care at the
Abu
Dhabi Future Health Summit
2026, focusing on the
technology’s potential to
reduce clinical
documentation workloads and
support patient-centered
care.
The
collaboration builds on an
existing project involving
more than 60 doctors at
Mediclinic Parkview Hospital
and Mediclinic City Hospital
in Dubai. Commure’s Ambient
AI solution is being
introduced to support
clinical documentation by
converting relevant
information from
clinician-patient
conversations into
structured clinical notes
for doctors to review and
reconcile.
The
technology is intended to
reduce the need for manual
note-taking during
consultations, potentially
allowing clinicians to spend
more time engaging with
patients while supporting
clinical workflows.
Hein van Eck, Chief
Executive Officer of
Mediclinic Middle East,
said: “The future
of healthcare will be
increasingly enabled by
technology, but it must
remain centered on people.
For us, innovation is not
about introducing technology
for its own sake; it is
about using it in ways that
make care better for our
patients and support our
clinical teams. Ambient AI
has the potential to reduce
the administrative burden on
doctors and allow them to be
more present with their
patients. That balance
between innovation and human
connection is fundamental to
how we see the future of
care.”
The
organizations are also
adapting the solution to the
UAE healthcare environment,
including evaluating its
performance in Arabic, as
they assess its application
in clinical practice.
Tanay Tandon,
Co-founder and Chief
Executive Officer of
Commure, said:
“Mediclinic Middle East is
showing what Ambient AI
looks like when it is fully
integrated: better care for
patients, less documentation
for clinicians, and
consistent clinical quality
across every note, in
English, Arabic, or any
other language. We’re proud
to be part of raising the
standard of care in the
region.”
The
collaboration forms part of
Mediclinic Middle East’s
wider adoption of digital
technologies to support
clinical practice and
develop more connected
models of care. The project
will help inform the
organization's evaluation of
Ambient AI in the local
healthcare setting.
