Magrabi Health named
world’s first “Network of
Excellence in Ophthalmology”

Magrabi Health has
become the first healthcare
network worldwide to receive
the “Network of Excellence
in Ophthalmology”
accreditation from the
Surgical Review Corporation
(SRC), following an
assessment of its
ophthalmology services,
physicians, facilities, and
clinical processes.
The accreditation evaluates
healthcare organizations
against standards covering
clinical care, patient
safety, outcomes,
operational performance, and
patient experience. The SRC
assessment also considers
physicians’ surgical
expertise and experience,
multidisciplinary care,
consulting services, and the
availability of
infrastructure, equipment,
and technology.
Accreditation
Assessment
According to Magrabi Health,
the SRC review included its
facilities and physicians
involved in ophthalmic care,
as well as the systems and
processes used to deliver
services across its network.
The assessment examined the
consistency of clinical
practices and protocols,
collaboration between
medical and operational
teams, staff training,
performance measurement, and
ongoing quality reviews. The
network said these processes
were implemented across its
facilities as part of
accreditation.

accreditation from the
Surgical Review Corporation
(SRC).”
He added
that the assessment of both
healthcare facilities and
physicians provided insights
into the organization’s
approach to specialized
ophthalmic care.

Operating Officer of Magrabi
Health, said: "The
accreditation followed work
across the network to
standardize clinical
practices, strengthen
coordination between teams,
expand training, and monitor
performance indicators."
Ophthalmology
Focus
Magrabi Health, which has
operated in ophthalmology
for more than seven decades,
has previously reported
several milestones in the
field, including performing
an early corneal transplant
in the region, introducing
LASIK vision correction
procedures, and using
artificial intelligence to
detect diabetic retinopathy
early.
The
organization has also
received Centers of
Excellence in Ophthalmology
accreditations for several
hospitals and centers. In
contrast, several of its
consultants and surgeons
have received SRC
recognition as Distinguished
Surgeons.
The latest
accreditation comes as
Magrabi Health continues to
expand its ophthalmology
services, including Centers
of Excellence, ophthalmic
technologies, research and
innovation initiatives, and
medical education and
training programs.
The organization said its
development plans are
aligned with Saudi Arabia’s
Health Sector Transformation
Program and Vision 2030,
which include objectives
related to healthcare
quality, service
development, and improved
health outcomes.
