(ArabMedicare.com News) Kalium
Drug Store, a pioneer in the field of aesthetic and anti-ageing
solutions, has launched a totally innovative light-based
technology, in the form of Aesthera photo-pneumatic therapy (PPx)
for the GCC and Middle East markets.
Endorsed by renowned US dermatologist Dr. Tina Alster, a prolific
author and editor of many dermatological journals, Aesthera is the
first painless treatment for hair removal and skin rejuvenation. It
is up to five times more effective and safer than any other laser or
IPL (intense pulsed light) system, according to the maker, Aesthera
Corporation.
Aesthera has developed what is considered to be the next generation
of light-based technology, after all, most of their employees have
spent entire careers as the leaders of the industry.
The technology behind PhotoPneumatic Therapy (PPx) promotes
efficiency, safety and speed. The technology combines broadband
light with pneumatic energy while utilizing a vacuum to suck the
targeted skin into a depression in the disposable tip. The process
not only brings sub-dermal targets closer to the surface but also
decreases melanin and hemoglobin in the area. The combination means
that up to five times the photons are able to reach the actual
target than is possible with conventional technology. Furthermore,
much lower energy is required to eliminate intended targets with far
less risk to adjacent tissue. PPx has already been shown to be
highly effective in treating unwanted hair, hyper-pigmentation, age
spots and spider veins.
"The launch of photo-pneumatic therapy will herald a new phase
of advanced skin treatment in the region. By combining the unique
properties of broadband light with pneumatic energy for hair removal
and photofacials, PPx offers distinct benefits over conventional
treatment options," said Rabih El Hajji, Regional Sales
Manager, Kalium Drug Store, Dubai. "PPx treatments have proven
to be extremely safe and efficient and, most remarkably, the
procedure is virtually painless."
Tony Kokjon from Aesthera Corporation said, "The concept of
photo-pneumatic therapy is already making significant inroads in the
West, with leading cosmetic surgeons and clinics endorsing it and
patients responding extremely positively to the therapy. Aesthera is
pleased to join hands with Kalium to bring PPx to the region, and
allow discerning consumers access to this ground-breaking treatment.
PPx will effectively be a catalyst for future technological
developments in skin treatment."
Aesthera, a California-based company, was founded by a team of
professionals with decades of experience in innovative laser
research and development.
