(Dubai, UAE) - The British Urology Day Surgical Centre announced the launch of a free screening program for early detection of prostate cancer among citizens over the age of 50 years. The comprehensive campaign conducted by the Centre across the United Arab Emirates aims to make a qualitative difference in awareness levels with men and the importance of early detection of prostate cancer to significantly reduce the number of deaths from the disease.

The move comes in line with the national campaign launched by the Emirates Urological Society (EUS) for the early detection of prostate cancer and its efforts to raise awareness among citizens and residents alike in ways to prevent this serious disease.

"We are always pleased to see private healthcare institutions play an active role in educating community members on prevention and early detection of serious health problems such as prostate cancer," said Dr. Abdul Qader Al Zarouni, President of EUS.

Dr. Nabil Mitry, President and Founder of the British Urology Day Surgical Centre said: "Through this effort, we aim to conduct free tests for dozens of UAE nationals in the coming month in Dubai. We are committed to the communities within which we operate and to the highest possible social responsibility, especially when it comes to the health and safety of individuals," said Dr. Mitry.

The British Urology Day Surgical Centre was opened last month by HE Humaid Mohammed Al Qutami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and attended by Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of Health Regulations, DHA. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as laser cutting and ultrasound and offers services in prostatic hyperplasia, early detection of tumors, erectile dysfunction, stent implantation, infertility treatment, urinary incontinence, urinary tract issues, treatment for kidney stones, and other medical services.
